Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst sunscreen ever I rarely write reviews but I am so disappointed in this sunscreen. As others have said, it leaves a cakey white layer on your face. I used it for the first time when I met a group of new friends on an outing and I was really embarrassed by the white layer. It looked like halloween makeup. Then when I reapplied later, it got even worse. I can see Cetaphil's response to oher comments of this nature. I understand mineral sunscreen is typically white. The reason I bought this one is because it is called SHEER Mineral Sunscreen. The definition of sheer is "of very thin or transparent texture," which is complete misrepresentation of this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wish i could like it since it's not cheap I see the comments on other reviews saying that it is a mineral sunscreen hence the thick white layer, but likewise to others, I also bought this because it had "sheer" in the name, which is pretty self explanatory. Needless to say I was very bummed, and embarrassed, when I applied even a small amount to my body (I put it all over) and I quickly appeared paler than I already am (I am a redhead). I am all for natural elements on my body and am aware this is a better choice than many other sunscreens, but I just can't get behind it if I am going to look like a ghost. Bummer because I use other Cetaphil products and like them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Workable for people with fair skin Definitely workable if you have fair skin. Apply evenly in a small area at a time because it dries up pretty quick. Layer it with a thin layer each time if need to. I definitely agree that this isn’t medium skin beyond friendly. I supposed they will come out with a tinted version (maybe?) if they want to be all inclusive. What is interesting is that most mineral sunscreen is greasy but this one is completely matte and will dry up to completely dry touch on the skin. I appreciate this in the summer as I have normal skin. Give it a try if you skin tone falls within the fair range (mine is probably in the more pigmented area within the fair range). It is workable, depends on how you use it.
