FAQs

Clinically proven to be suitable for combination to oily, sensitive skin, Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser is a perfect addition to any skincare routine. Its deep cleansing, gentle formula includes a new blend of key ingredients such as hydrating glycerin, panthenol (vitamin B5) and niacinamide (vitamin B3), which all work together to help to minimize the appearance of pores and reinforce your skin’s moisture barrier.

To use Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser, follow these steps:

  1. Wet your face with warm water.
  2. Apply a small amount of the cleanser to your fingertips or a clean washcloth.
  3. Gently massage the cleanser onto your face in a circular motion, avoiding the eye area.
  4. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
  5. Pat your face dry with a clean towel.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser comes in two versions. One is formulated with added fragrances. However, if you love the clinically proven deep clean of Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser, but don't want the fragrance, try Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Fragrance Free, which is a good choice for people who are sensitive to scents in skincare. Both cleansers are paraben free, hypoallergenic, and won't clog pores.

Cetaphil Facial Cleansers are not specifically formulated for acne-prone skin. However, their non-irritating, hypoallergenic, and non-comedogenic formula, which is free of any parabens or fragrance, makes them suitable for acne-prone skin. It's formulated to remove excess oil and dirt without stripping the skin's natural moisture barrier. In addition, it can help to alleviate dryness, a common skin concern associated with some acne treatments.

However, if you have acne, it's better to use products that are specifically formulated for acne-prone skin. You may prefer using one of the Cetaphil products that have been directly tailored to managing acne-prone skin, such as Cetaphil Gentle Clear Complexion - Clearing BPO Acne Cleanser or Cetaphil Gentle Clear Clarifying Acne Cream Cleanser.

Yes, you can use Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser on your body, but it may not be the most cost-effective option if you're using it solely for that purpose. This gentle cleanser is specifically formulated for the face, but it can be used on other areas of the body that are prone to dryness or irritation, such as the chest or back.

If you're looking for a body wash that's specifically formulated for the skin on your body, you may want to explore the Cetaphil range of gentle bars and body washes.

Yes, you can use Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser once or twice a day, as this gentle cleanser is designed for daily use and is suitable for most skin types - even the most sensitive skin. It's gentle enough to use every day for deep cleaning and won't strip your skin of its natural oils while effectively removing dirt, excess oils and makeup

However, it’s important to not over-wash your face, as natural oils are essential for healthy-looking skin. As with any skincare product, it's important to pay attention to how your skin reacts and adjust your routine as needed.

"When it comes to cleansers, I look for a formula that effectively cleanses the skin of all dirt, oil, and debris without stripping its skin of its natural oils. Cetaphil’s Daily Facial Cleanser is that perfect balance. It provides a deep cleanse while adding hydration to the skin with nourishing ingredients like niacinamide, panthenol, and glycerin."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from #1 Sensitive Skin Acne Wash For Every Day Use I am 14 years old and I've been using this for 2 years and my acne is practically "not even there" as my high-school friends tell me. Cetaphil transforms my oily, acne-prone skin into a beautiphil masterpiece. I had spent many hoping to find a facial wash to abolish the terrible acne that I had dealt with. My skin is super sensitive to fragrance and I'm allergic to benzoyl peroxide, thankfully Cetaphil was there for me. Note to readers: If your skin possibly becomes too dry just apply a small penny size amount of lotion to moisturize your entire face. Be aware that too much lotion can lead to having oily skin.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Formula changed for the worse I have been using cetaphil faithfully for years- it cleaned my face without residue, took off makeup, didn’t dry my skin. I just purchased a new bottle, and it has definitely changed. It used to be clear and now it’s opaque like there is lotion mixed in it. It will not remove makeup no matter how many times I wash my face. It seems like there’s a slimy layer left when I rinse my face. What happened?? It doesn’t say that it changed, and the only difference seems to be that where I think it used to say face cleanser now it says “for face and body”, but I definitely wouldn’t use it for my body, and I won’t continue using it for my face. I’ll be looking for a new face wash.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from WHY would you change your formula?!?! I have used this cleanser for close to 20 years! It’s gentle on my tends toward oily but sensitive skin. I’m someone who likes to try the latest and greatest but I’ve been highly loyal to this amazing face wash.... until tonight when I opened a new bottle from the two pack I bought from Sam’s recently. Totally different consistency- almost oily and completely clear and HIGHLY perfumed!! I can’t imagine my skin will react well to this so I’ll likely be going elsewhere for my face wash after a great run with Cetaphil.
